Touching, to believe in the “miracles” of a tran-
sformist fashion beyond imagination, can someti-
mes be much more useful if it is an eclectic crea-
tivity that goes from clothing to living and beyond.
You cannot do without it when you come across
the creations of the visionary Dutch designer Iris
van Herpen, who in 2007 founded her Maison,
including in the curriculum also an experience
alongside Alexander McQueen. Speak for her the
futuristic clothes with patented textures that help
to understand her uniqueness. From Crystalliza-
tion (2010), the f rst dress in the history of fashion
printed with 3D techniques to evoke limestone
deposits such as water states in all its forms, to
creations that mix acrylic membranes with polyu-
rethane, silicones, leather and crystals, already
loved by stars like Lady Gaga and Bjork. For a fa-
shion that is imbued with avant-garde and expe-
rimentation, in the sign of the interdisciplinarity
that leads the designer to make excellent colla-
borations with artists and scientists, in a modern
vision in which the hand-made mix with digital
technology passing from clothing to living. The
new couture garment of the Naturalis Biodiversi-
ty Center in Leiden in the Netherlands bears her
signature: “I modeled and draped the stone with
three-dimensional biomorphic motifs, both inside
and outside the building. It looks like the archae-
ology of a dress “.
