STYLE NOTES

Blazers, vests, suspenders, trench. Ties, clutch, Borsalino and doctor bags. The
menswear for autumn-winter runs fast on the contemporary edge, drawing on
a variety of styles, inspirations and genres, in a melting pot that mixes and
reworks the aesthetic codes of past and present. Starting from the jacket, real
statement of male dressing, that rediscovers the taste of a retro elegance, made
of neutral colors - London fog, beige, black, dark green - and varied textures.
Single or double breasted, the new gentlemen prefer slim fit models to match
with vests, another must have of the season to be worn strictly with shirt and tie.
A “Gatsby” detail which recalls the eccentric and typical bourgeois elegance of
the ‘20s as told by Francis Scott Fitzgerald. Reminiscences with a vintage flavor
even for accessories, starting from the hat, indispensable and iconic complement
of style that has already flooded the streets around the world. If until recently
the object of desire was the flat cap, now it is the turn of the classic Fedora and
Borsalino, made more urban by innovative fabrics and materials. To delineate
the style full of thin extravagance of the modern dandy, there are then paisley
scarves, demi-leather gloves and lace-up shoes. The most formal models don’t
seem to admit improvisation, with full-worsted wool, tweed or bouclè suites with
impeccable cuts, a mix of craft and experimentation. Details, finishes, fabrics:
nothing is left to chance. And if the tailoring has evolved, the color palette stays
true to the nuances that have always characterized male wardrobe: dark blue,
black and gray. For a refined total look without too much excesses.
